ACCESS TO JUSTICE
Performance Area 1Â
Access to Justice assesses whether parties and stakeholders are provided easy and safe access to the judicial system and assess ways to eliminate unnecessary barriers. Barriers can be geographic, economic, or procedural.
EXPEDITION AND TIMELINESS
Performance Area 2
Expedition and Timeliness assess whether duties and responsibilities of the court adversely affect those involved in the judicial system. The court must render opinions and address situations in a timely manner. Unnecessary delay is a primary cause of diminished public trust and confidence in the court.
EQAULITY, FAIRNESS, AND INTEGRITY Performance Area 3Â
The judicial process should be fair and reliable. The process should ensure justice for all. Due process is a viable component to this performance area.
INDEPENDENCE AND ACCOUNTABILITYÂ
Performance Area 4Â
The judiciary must assert and maintain its distinctiveness as a separate branch of government. Independence and accountability permit government by law, access to justice, and the timely resolution of disputes with equality, fairness, and integrity.
